    Beulah was a wonderful Christian mother, housewife, and a friend to all. Odis: When Odes was baptized into Six Mile Baptist Church, at the age of 13, they had to break the ice on the mill pond near the church and school, in order to get in the water. He later joined Piney Grove Baptist Church, where he was a trustee several years, and also a deacon of the church until his death. Odes was first a saw mill hand, a farmer, and for years, a carpenter, doing finish work in Blount County, and surrounding counties.

    When Edna was small, her parents moved to Binfield, and lived on the Jake Lane place for six weeks. Her mother said the sun never rose nor set in the right place all that time. The family then moved into a log cabin up the side of Chilhowee Mountain, on land belonging to Edna's grandparents, Henry F. and Eliza Jane Hall McDonell.
    After living there for a while, the family moved back into the same house where Edna was born. Edna began school at Blockhouse, in the fall of 1920, where she had a chart class. That same year, her dad built a home in the Oakhurst Addition, on Jett Hill, off Old Knoxville Pike.
    In January, 1921, Edna began school at Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Plainfield School). When Everett High School opened in 1922, she entered there in the second grade. On Christmas Day, 1925, Edna and her parents moved to Long Hollow. She began Alnwick School in January, 1926, and made new friends. After completing the 8th grade there, she returned to Everett, in 1929, to began high school. On April 23. 1931, she and her parents moved to a home on Wilkerson Pike, where she still resides.

    George: While the girls were still small, Jeff moves his family to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where he went to work. After being ill for some time, he moved the family to Crossville. He asked the Lord to let him live until his children finished high school. The Lord blessed their home, and Jeff spent quite some time there with his family, before his death.

They both enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Noted musician, WGAP salesman William Carl Wells dies at 89

William Carl Wells of Maryville, noted as a musician and for his radio career, died Thursday at Blount Memorial Hospital at age 89. He was a salesman with WGAP radio for 52 years and performed on the station's ``Piano Informalities'' show. He and Ruthie Beaver both sang and played piano on the show.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as sergeant major for the prisoner-of-war camp at Camp Shelby in Mississippi. He was a graduate of Maryville College and a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.L. ``Lennie'' and Rhoda Alice Lawson Wells and brother, J. Lloyd Wells.
Survivors include his nephew and wife, John and Lavone Wells of McDonough, Ga.; cousins, Mose Waters of Maryville, Bobbie Westling of Orange, Calif., Helen Sullivan and Bud Waters, both of Maryville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Abbott and Pastors Brenda and Larry Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
